How are THCA Diamonds Made?
THCA diamonds are typically made through a multi-step process:
- High-quality cannabis is extracted using solvents like butane or propane in a closed-loop system.
- The resulting concentrate undergoes initial purging to remove most solvents.
- The extract is then placed in a sealed container and subjected to controlled temperature and pressure
- conditions over several days to weeks. This process is called “diamond mining.”
- During this time, THCA molecules begin to crystallize and separate from the terpene-rich solution.
- Once crystals have formed, they are separated from the remaining liquid (often called “sauce”).
- The crystals then undergo further refinement and purging to remove any residual solvents.
- The result is highly pure THCA crystals, often reaching 99%+ purity.
This process requires specialized equipment and expertise and should only be attempted by trained professionals in licensed facilities due to the use of volatile solvents and the need for precise control over temperature and pressure.
